COME THROUGH THE DOOR

By Dan Luehrs

If you are like me, I think very little about going through doorways. In fact, I go through many doors in one day without giving one thought about the doorway. Doors are nothing but to get from one room to the next. However, if we are running late in going to the bank and they lock the door in front of us just as we arrived, that locked doorway is now hindering me from cashing a check or making a payment that now is late. All because the door was locked!

Let’s take this a step farther about our safety. What if we were out walking and a thunderstorm came quickly upon us and we ran to your car to find that you locked your keys in the car. Now we are in the wrath of the storm and are fearing the loss of our life. The door of your car has now become a life or death matter especially if someone were chasing you!

So Jesus said to them again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.  "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:7-10 (NASU)

Clearly Jesus is teaching us how to live a blessed life. But are we listening and do we fully understand what He is saying to us? Jesus alone is the Door to great blessings upon our lives, these verses above have to do with us obtaining His presence by going through the Door of Who He is into the spirit realm every day. That is where our daily bread [Provision] is to be found! Jesus also is Jacob’s ladder that we ascend into the realms of God through His blood anytime we choose to, otherwise the blessing of the glory [His presence] would kill us if we were not protected by the blood.

I AM THE DOOR

What if I told you that I know exactly how you can be blessed beyond measure in all areas of your life and it has to do with you going through the right door?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. We must understand that there is only one earth that we live on, but there is more than one heaven or spirit realms that we are called to live in also at the same time. We human beings live in two realms at one time, the natural and the spiritual realm. The spirit realm controls the natural, it is like the skeleton of the body that cannot be seen, but without it we would only be a blob of skin. The spirit world is the unseen frame work of human existence. Most people live their daily lives out of the second heaven or spiritual realm that is full of evil and darkness. It is evil and dark because they do not have the light/truth of Jesus to give them spiritual understanding into the reality of His love and forgiveness. So they remain in the darkness of their own mind and the world around them and never coming into the knowledge of the truth, but living the life of sin and death (separation from God). But for those who live in the light/truth of Jesus, His blood covers us and delivers us from the spirit of this age daily if we will just come through the Door into the realms of God daily. Just how many spirit realms are there? We don’t know for sure, maybe three, seven, or they could be numberless. What does it really matter how many there are except that we can have as much of God as we desire in all spiritual realms. I like that, for the Father has gladly given us the kingdom!

The people of the world and many professing Christians only see what is in the natural world in front of them because that is all they have eyes to see. It is only in Jesus we go through the Door that we can possibly hope to see and understand the spirit world. All these natural things can be distractions to us seeing the true spiritual worlds that surround us at all times. Because our flesh and the enemies of our soul keep us from seeing that which is essential to life, and happiness in God’s presence and prevent us from going into the glory realms of God daily. So many of God’s people think that it is only on Sundays that they can enter the presence of God in worship at their church service. When they starve themselves spiritually throughout the week, because they do not know how to enter into the glory realm in their home, in the car, or even at work. When we begin to worship the Lord from our heart a portal opens to the realm of God where we are blessed and encouraged by the Holy Spirit’s presence. This is the time we can give our burdens unto the Lord because He cares for us. Likewise, this is the time we receive from the Lord whatever we may be in need of, like encouragement, love, joy, and peace to overcome discouragement.

Sad to say, but most Christians know nothing of the presence of God in their daily lives. This moved the heart of Jesus, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” Matt 9:36 (NLT). The true Shepherd would have led the people through the Door that leads to true peace and life in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that he alone was the true door and that, "All who came before Me are thieves and robbers!” But who are the thieves and robbers? The Law and dead religion of the past that could not give the life and presence of God that we so need in our daily life. Religion is a thief of the presence and the life of God that steals away the peace and joy from the heart by going through dead works of the law.

Jesus said, "I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” The word [saved] does not just mean I am going to heaven when I die, but that I have a right to live and eat and drink out of the realms of God anytime that I want to, or should I say, need to. But the fact of the matter is, once you start living out of your rightful place of abundant life you will want to go back every day to partake of the life of God. The word [saved] is [Soso] in the Greek, it means to, be safe, deliver, protected, and healed. Our good Shepherd is wanting to lead us if we will follow Him into green pastures to feed us with true spiritual substance. Now with this truth in mind read Psalms 23,

Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He has me lie down in grassy pastures, he leads me by quiet water, he restores my inner person. He guides me in right paths for the sake of his own name. Even if I pass through death-dark ravines, I will fear no disaster; for you are with me; your rod and staff reassure me. You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; you anoint my head with oil from an overflowing cup. Goodness and grace will pursue me every day of my life; and I will live in the house of Adonai for years and years to come. (CJB)

Can I just say, Amen and Amen! So be it Lord in my life and in the life of all those who will seek you with a whole heart and find you. Wow, what an amazing God we serve who wants to bless us with His life and presence for years and years to come. We, “Will go in and out and find pasture.” This means that we will have the spiritual food to not only feed ourselves, but to lead others to the pastures of God also so that they also can go through the Door that Jesus is to receive more of Him.

THE DOOR IS NOW OPEN

After these things, I looked; and there before me was a door standing open in heaven; and the voice like a trumpet which I had heard speaking with me before said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after these things.” Rev 4:1 (CJB)

With this verse in mind about the open door, remember that Jesus is the only Door into the realms of God. Jesus delivered us from the spiritual realm of darkness when He died and the veil of the Temple was torn in two. This represented the fact for us that the door to the glory realm has now been opened for all who would come through the body and blood of Jesus. This is why we must eat His body and drink His blood spiritually by partaking of Him in spirit daily. He is our life!

To those people who have already received Him into their hearts as the Doorway into the kingdom of God now have access to all that heaven holds for them. All we have to do is take the time to seek Him each day, then we have access through the Doorway of Himself to see and feel His presence, and experience the realities of heaven here and now on planet earth. This is what the whole world is seeking for, life, peace, and love in God’s presence. People just do not know how to go through the Door daily to receive His life and presence, so we must ask God to teach us how to draw closer to Him so that we do not miss the great things He has for us.

I was shown this doorway some thirty years ago in my basement and my life has never been the same. God has blessed us in ways that I cannot comprehend and I believe it all is because of finding Jesus as the Door to the heart of God. Matthew 6:32-33 has been one of my life verses that I have lived by. “For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (NASU). I believe that if we will put seeking God first in our life, His presence He will meet all our needs according to His word.

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 (NASU)

And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. Matt 21:22 (NASU)

And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:22 (NASU)

Just from these three verses alone we can see that it is out of the spirit realm that our needs are met.  Think of the spiritual world as a department store that has everything you could ever need or want. My heavenly Father is my Shepherd; I lack nothing and neither do you if you will just take the time daily to seek Him and get to know His heart by asking Him to help you. It is when, “We come up here” into God’s glorious presence that all of our needs are met! It is from the glory realm that we all came from and will return to, even as Jesus Himself did, we just have to take the time to learn and grow in that realm while we are on the earth. For some reason the Father has designed it that we learn of the spirit realm while we are still earthly beings. Some day we will know fully why and we will be in awe and wonder at the wisdom of our God in our life-time.

Jesus said in Revelation 3:7-8, “He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: “I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut…” (NASU)

The open door is Jesus Himself and He will never, never shut His door to His people if we will seek Him here and now! He is the Door to love, peace, joy, and acceptance in His presence, but there is also wealth and provision from the kingdom of God for your life on earth.  Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32 (NASU). The question for us is, do we know how to receive the spiritual kingdom from the King? May God bless you in your quest to draw nearer to Him!
